We Don’t Sell Homes but We Know What Will

Every year thousands of people move in and out of their homes. When trying to sell a home the floor is often neglected while other pre-sell maintenance is being tended to.

There’s a reason you walk into homes and get the new home smell and it starts literally from the ground up. New flooring when selling a home is key. As the housing market continues to improve, new floors are a top deal breaker when house hunters are looking for their dream home.

Because home values have dropped over the last five years it is very important to update your home before going on the market. New flooring can be a quick and simple solution. In the end it becomes less expensive to install new carpet before potential buyers visit than it is give new owners an allowance for twice as much. Homes with new flooring have also been known to sell over 50% faster than homes with floors that are over two years old. Needless to say, the return of new floors when selling is very significant.

At StarFloors we are ultimate in convenience, our flooring experts and samples can come right to your home. This makes the process of getting your home ready for sale even easier. The installation process is seamless and easy. Often times we can offer a 48 hour turnaround after product selection.*

Moving can be stressful but when installing new flooring the return is so great you’re practically paying for your first new house payment. StarFloors also offers a flexible financing option for any budget.

It is more cost effective to install new carpet than give an allowance to new owners that is twice as much.

  • Homes with new flooring sell 68% faster than homes with flooring that is more than two years old.
  • Save on the next house payment; new floors will practically pay for themselves.
  • There are positive psychological effects on buyers when they walk in and smell new carpet.

Choosing The Right Flooring For Your Pets

Choosing the right flooring is important when you have pets.
There are many different options to choose from, but only a few are best
equipped to withstand the inevitable wear and tear that can come from your four-legged
friend. What’s great about many of these flooring options is that you don’t
have to sacrifice having nice looking floors for pet friendly floors, since
each of these flooring types come in a variety of colors and designs.

Stone or ceramic tile flooring are both great options for a house with pets. They are very resilient against scratches, and are much better at concealing scratches if they do occur. Stone or ceramic tile also make for a relatively easy clean up if your pet leaves a little present for you on your floor.

Cork flooring is an eco-friendly option for pets. Cork is
very durable and scratch resistant against your pet’s nails. It is also
sound-absorbent, making it quieter in your home when your pet walks around the
house.

Laminate and vinyl flooring are other great
flooring options for pets. Laminate is tough flooring and very hard to scratch,
so it won’t be ruined quickly from your pet’s toenails. It is pretty good with
handling whatever accidents may be thrown its way, but large messes need to be
cleaned up quickly to ensure that too much moisture does not get into the seams
that could cause eventual buckling.

Although carpet and hardwood flooring are two of the more common flooring choices in most homes, they are also some of the least pet-friendly, unfortunately.

Carpet is the most vulnerable to pet accidents. Since the
moisture from your pet’s “oopsy” sinks down into the pad of your carpet, the stain and smell are both very difficult to totally get rid of. Pet shedding is also a factor, since carpet tends to catch each and every hair shed from your cat, dog, or other pet.

Hardwood flooring is also not one of the better choices for
pet owners. While hardwood is beautiful and sturdy at first, it does not hold
up very well after a while against your pet’s nails. Accidents can also be
detrimental to your hardwood flooring. If it is not cleaned up quickly enough,
the moisture can cause staining and warping to the boards.

The Advantages of Cork Flooring

There are many advantages to cork flooring for both the consumer and the environment. We’ve come up with six benefits to cork flooring, and hopefully you will see how beneficial cork flooring will be for you!

Comfort and Smoothness

Cork flooring is one of the most comfortable and softest flooring materials available today. The secret to the comfort and smoothness is the cellular structure. Cork flooring is made up of a honeycomb like structure that contains 90% gas in each honeycomb. There is an average of 40 million of these honeycombs per cubic centimeter. This allows the cork to compress up to 40% without damage and return to its normal size. Cork is a great substitute to wood flooring because it’s as comfortable as carpet and has the wood look.

Safety and Health

There is a naturally occurring substance in cork called suberin that repels insects, mites and mold. Suberin will also prevent cork from rotting when wet and is shown to be naturally fire resistant as well. This fire resistant material won’t release any toxic gases when burned making cork one of the safest options for your household.

Noise Reduction and Insulation

The cellular structure mentioned above that makes up the cork flooring comfort, also reduces noise and vibration. Cork reduces impact noises when something is dropped on the floor or people/pets walk on the cork. Cork also has an insulation aspect that can help reduce heating costs in the winter and provide warmth when walking on the floor.

Attractiveness

Cork flooring is one of the best looking wood flooring products out there today made without chemicals or paint. Cork flooring will provide your home with a natural wood flooring available in many different colors to match your home décor.

Environmentally safe

Cork is a renewable resource due to the way it is harvested. Cork oak trees provide cork material via their bark. They are harvested every 9-10 years by stripping off a layer of bark. They can do continual harvests through their lifetime and don’t require the tree to be cut down.

                                                                                    Resilience

Cork is very durable and can withstand both pressure and force. This flooring can withstand abuse from people, pets, furniture, etc.

If you’re looking for comfort, durability an attractive floor and more then cork flooring is the way to go.
